FAQ

Sourcing, specification, shipping and OEM questions answered in one place.

These are the questions our sales desk answers most often, grouped by topic. Short answers here; when a number is model specific it is on the product page, and when it is commercial it is in the OEM fact sheet or the shipping & returns page.

If your question is not covered below, write to [email protected] and include the model, the quantity and the destination country - that is usually enough for a single, complete reply. Buyers who send a jig weight, a target species and a port get an answer back the same day.

Products and specifications

What kinds of reels does KATYUSHA manufacture?

Full-metal jigging and trolling reels (the DG, JN, JN500, KJN and KSJ series), spinning reels (ACE series), baitcasting reels (KRX series) and CNC fly reels in 5/7, 7/9 and 9/10 sizes. Matched jigs, hooks and rigs are supplied to fish with the reels.

Are KATYUSHA reels fully metal?

Yes on the full-metal lines: body, spool and side covers are machined from 6061-T6 aluminium, with shafts, bearings, drag washers and springs in 304 or 316 stainless steel. The FR-range graphite fly reels are the exception and are built on a graphite frame.

Where do I find drag, bearing count, gear ratio and line capacity?

On the specification table of each product page. These figures are model specific - the same family can differ by size. If the model you are considering is not listed, email [email protected] and we will send the full spec sheet.

What is the maximum drag on the jigging reels?

Model specific, and measured on the bench at full spool. The DG80II and the JN, KJN and KSJ series are our heavy-drag jigging models; each product page lists that reel's rated maximum drag. Usable drag at the hook also depends on your line, rod and drag setting.

Are the reels suitable for saltwater?

Yes. Offshore models use 316 marine-grade stainless steel in the parts most exposed to chloride attack and are sealed where the specification says so. Rinse the reel with fresh water after every trip and never open a sealed body at sea.

Which reel should I choose for jigging and which for trolling?

For slow-pitch and vertical jigging, the JN and KSJ series cover the usual range; for deep, heavy jigging and offshore trolling, the DG80II and the 500-size reels are the entry point. Tell us your jig weight, target species and fishing depth and we will recommend a size rather than a range.

Do the reels come with line?

Some models are supplied pre-spooled with PE braid, as stated on the product page. If the specification table does not list line, braid is not included.

Do you supply spare parts?

Yes for current models - spools, drag washers, handles and knobs, and bearings. Send the model number and the part you need and we will confirm availability. The parts list is not published online yet, so ask with the model you own.

Ordering and payment

Do you sell to individuals or only to businesses?

Both. Anglers can order from this store, and trade buyers - distributors, tackle shops, boat suppliers and online sellers - are quoted through our trade desk on the same production line.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum for a retail order from this store. Trade and OEM orders start at 200 pcs per model for fly reels and 100 pcs per model for sea reels, counted per colour and per size. Mixed pallets and full containers are quoted per order - the trade desk confirms the carton and pallet build for the model mix you need.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer and the card and PayPal options shown at checkout on this store. Trade orders normally run on a deposit with the balance due before shipment; the split is stated on the proforma invoice.

Can I order a sample before committing to a bulk order?

Yes. A sample is charged at the single-unit price plus freight, with the lead time confirmed when the model is known, and the sample cost is credited against a bulk order of the same model.

How do I get a formal quotation?

Send the model list with quantities, your destination port and your target price to [email protected]. We reply with a quotation, then a proforma invoice once the details are agreed. Quotations are normally issued within one to two business days.

Can I cancel or change an order?

A stock order can be changed or cancelled before dispatch. Custom-colour and private-label orders cannot be cancelled once production has started, because the goods are already made to your specification.

Shipping and customs

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, direct from our factory in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Retail orders ship by international courier; trade orders ship by air freight or sea freight through the port you nominate.

How long does delivery take?

Retail orders usually dispatch within a few business days of cleared payment; bulk orders dispatch after deposit and artwork approval, with the exact lead time on that order’s proforma invoice. Transit time then depends on the method: courier, air freight, LCL or FCL sea freight - see the shipping and returns page for the current ranges.

Who pays import duties and VAT?

The buyer does, unless your quotation is issued DDP (delivered duty paid). In that case we arrange clearance and pay the import duties. Import taxes, VAT and local clearance fees are never included in an EXW, FOB or CIF price.

Can you ship DDP to my warehouse?

Yes, on request. DDP quotations are prepared case by case because the duty rate depends on your country and product code. Ask for DDP pricing when you send your enquiry.

Will you under-declare the invoice value for customs?

No. We declare the true transaction value. Under-declaring exposes buyer and seller to fines, seizure and loss of the goods, and we will not do it.

What documents come with a shipment?

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, and a certificate of origin as standard. Test reports and other certificates are available on request.

Returns and warranty

What is the return window?

7 days from the day the parcel is delivered. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. Contact us first for a return reference - unauthorised returns cannot be traced and may be refused. Custom and private-label goods are not returnable for change of mind.

What does the warranty cover?

KATYUSHA reels carry a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects in machining, material and assembly, counted from the delivery date. Wear parts such as drag washers, bearings and line are excluded, as is damage from exceeding the rated drag, dropping the reel, or unauthorised repair. Baits and soft plastics are consumables and carry no warranty period.

Do baits and soft plastics carry a warranty?

No. Baits are consumables - they meet teeth, rocks and snags by design, so there is no warranty period on them. A bait that is faulty out of the pack (wrong colour, torn on arrival) is replaced or credited; a bait that has been fished is not a warranty item.

My reel arrived damaged - what should I do?

Note the damage on the delivery document before signing if the carton is crushed, torn or wet, photograph the carton and the product, and email us as soon as possible and no later than the courier claim window. Courier claims have short deadlines, so report it immediately rather than waiting to test the reel.

Are spare parts and wear items covered by the warranty?

Normally no - consumable wear parts such as drag washers and line are excluded. Genuine spare parts are available at cost for current models, and a part that fails from a manufacturing defect inside the 6-month warranty is replaced free.

OEM, private label and wholesale

Can you put my brand on the reels?

Yes. We run OEM, private-label and light ODM programmes with custom colour anodising, laser engraving, pad printing and your own retail packaging, on the same tooling that builds KATYUSHA reels.

What is the minimum order for a private-label reel?

200 pcs per model for fly reels and 100 pcs per model for sea reels, counted per colour and per size. A new body or mould is quoted per model with the tooling cost stated separately.

How long does sampling take?

The sample and production lead times are confirmed at artwork approval and restated on the bulk-order proforma invoice.

Will you sell my private-label reel to other customers?

No. Your model, artwork, colour and packaging are exclusive to your channel. We do not list a private-label customer's product on our own store or on marketplaces.

Where do I get wholesale and container pricing?

Our B2B desk quotes mixed pallets, LCL and full container loads. Send your model list, quantities and destination port through the wholesale enquiry form and you will get unit price tiers together with carton and pallet data.

Can I buy neutral reels with no branding?

Yes. Neutral (unbranded) packing is a normal wholesale request, with or without the retail box. Neutral and branded orders run on the same production line and the same MOQ structure.

About KATYUSHA

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

We are the manufacturer. Our own plant in Dongguan, Guangdong machines the bodies, spools and side covers on 5-axis CNC centres, then anodises, assembles and pressure-tests the reels on site. We are not a trading company reselling someone else's reels.

Where is the KATYUSHA factory?

In Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Our registered address is Room 203, No. 8, Xintai 1st Street, Xinmalian, Dalang Town, Dongguan, Guangdong Province 523770, China, for visitors and factory audits by appointment. Customer visits and factory audits can be arranged with notice.

How many reels can you produce each month?

2,000 reels per month across the fly reel and sea reel lines. That is the capacity we quote OEM and wholesale customers against, so give us the model mix and the month you need and the trade desk will confirm the slot.

Can we visit or audit the factory?

Yes. Video walk-throughs are available on request, and on-site visits can be arranged with advance notice. Certification and audit documents are shared on request under NDA.

Which brands does KATYUSHA own?

KATYUSHA (reels and precision manufacturing), PROBEROS (full-range fishing tackle wholesale), SUNLURE (soft baits) and YACUYU (rods). Each brand has its own store; the group manufactures and exports from the same base.

How is KATYUSHA spelled?

K-A-T-Y-U-S-H-A - the spelling used on this site, in our domain katyushafish.com and on every reel. Some older listings and invoices print KATUYSHA; it is the same brand and the same factory, and those old web addresses now redirect here.

Where else can I buy KATYUSHA products?

Direct from this store, and through our own brand stores on major marketplaces. There is no other authorised KATYUSHA seller.

How do I reach a human at KATYUSHA?

Email [email protected] or message +86 158 5790 1157 on WhatsApp, Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00 China Standard Time (GMT+8). Both go to the factory desk, not a call centre, and we answer within one business day.
