Quality
Every reel pressure-tested before it ships.
Tested, not assumed
A reel that leaks on day three is a warranty claim on day thirty. Our QC routine is deliberately short
and blunt: measure the things that break, on every unit, before it is boxed.
Quality control fact sheet
- Incoming inspection
- Material certificates for aluminium and stainless; hardness and dimension spot checks
- In-process inspection
- First-article inspection per CNC setup; hourly dimensional checks on critical fits
- Tolerance held
- Held to the drawing tolerance on bearing bores and spool shafts
- Drag test
- Each assembled reel measured to its rated max drag; rated values published per model
- Pressure / water test
- Pulled to rated drag, and water-tested on sealed models, before packing
- Corrosion test
- Salt-spray checks on plated and anodised parts, recorded per lot
- Final inspection
- Sampling plan agreed per order, on appearance and function
- Traceability
- Batch records kept per production lot
- Warranty
- 6 months on reels, against manufacturing defects - handled by the factory, not a reseller; baits are consumables and carry no warranty
The five checks every reel goes through
- Frame and spool geometry. Bearing bores, spool shaft and side-plate fits checked against drawing.
- Free spool and handle. Spool spins freely, handle turns without binding or backlash.
- Drag stack. Pulled to rated drag on the bench; smoothness verified through the full range.
- Seal integrity. Sealed models are checked for water ingress before packing.
- Finish. Anodising and engraving inspected under light; no machining marks on show surfaces.
If something goes wrong
Send the batch reference and photos. Because we machine the parts ourselves, we can trace the lot back to
the setup and tell you whether it is a material problem, a machining problem or a handling problem - and what
we are changing on the next run.

FAQ
How is each reel tested before shipping?
Frame and spool geometry, free spool and handle function, drag stack pulled to rated drag, seal integrity on sealed models, and final finish inspection.
What is the warranty on KATYUSHA reels?
6 months against manufacturing defects, counted from delivery and handled by the factory rather than a reseller. Baits and soft plastics are consumables and carry no warranty.
What is your AQL for final inspection?
The sampling plan is agreed per order and written into the order confirmation.
How do you handle a defect claim?
Send the batch reference and photos. Because machining is in-house, we can trace the lot to the production setup and identify whether the cause is material, machining or handling.
